Wembley, London /
Working within the parameters of an existing masterplan, Hamiltons is designing two prominent buildings and a significant area of new public realm.
Located at the end of Olympic Way and framing the view of the new National Stadium beyond, buildings W03 and E01 sit in a key location and relate directly to the stadium, avenue and the new boulevard linking transport nodes in the area.
Comprising apartments, retail and leisure uses, the form of the building was inspired by its relationship with the surrounding area. Projecting balconies become ?theatre? boxes facing the arena allowing residents privacy, but also engagement with the activity below.
With the development of the two sites comes the opportunity to introduce a new piece of public realm into the area. New steps and a funicular will become a significant new destination for football fans and other users of the regenerated area.
