Michel graduated from Oxford Polytechnic in 1991 before taking up a Scholarship to Virginia Polytechnic Institute’s Urban Campus in Washington DC. He was awarded a Masters in Architecture in 1994 and after working for SOM in Washington DC joined Foster and Partners in January 1996.

From 1997 Michel was the Project Architect for Europe’s largest Museum of Prehistory in southern France, the Musee de Prehistoire des Gorges du Verdon, which opened in 2001. From 1999 he was involved, from inception to completion in 2001, in a high quality private residence on the Cote d’Azur, and was the Associate responsible for Phase 3 of the American Air Museum at Duxford.

Between 2001 and 2004, Michel was responsible for the delivery of the Albion Riverside residential scheme on the South Bank of the Thames and supervised the teams delivering apartments within the building. Michel led the Foster and Partners team for the National Museum of China, competition in Beijing 2004. Since joining Hamiltons in 2004 he has been responsible for Bowater House, a major residential development in Knightsbridge. He also lead the team to develop the design for a major residential redevelopment in Elephant & Castle, London which was granted Planning Approval in 2006.

He has also lead the teams for competitions in Damascus, Syria and for Imperial College, London. He is currently leading the teams for the new Carnegie Pavilion at Heading Ely Carnegie Stadium in Leeds, for an extensive residential resort in Mallorca and a number of London based projects.
